The authors

Welcome to a website focused on Catocala from North America! This is currently a development platform where we are sharing, in advance, information from components of the Catocala Fascicle for the Moths of America North of Mexico series, for which we are the principal co-authors. The major motivation here is to provide vetted images and morphological characteristics about the larvae of Catocala, to help participants on iNaturalist to identify the amazing things they are finding. This site was launched in spring 2025 and is still under substantial construction. The map above comes from the growing MONA Fascicle geographic database, and is a visual summary of locality records for all species combined (see the More About section for details).
